This probably a dumb a$$ ?, but when I have the roof of my retractable retracted does the dome light still come when the doors are opened.  I don't see any extra switch in the wiring diagrams, so maybe when the front roof tucks back against the main roof it breaks the circuit. Not real important, just wondering.

If a tree falls in the woods...and no one is there to hear it...does it make a noise? LOL!!!

Good question actually...I guess you could find a 6 year old kid and put him in the luggage box and then lower the lid and ask him. LOL!!!

I'd try turning the dome light on, then open the roof and watch. I can't believe they would have wired it so it stayed on.......fire hazard, not to mention dead battery time.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Hello Alvin,

I have a 57 Skyliner also, and I can confirm that the dome light comes on whenever the door is opened no matter what position the roof is in.  There is nothing in the circuit to the dome light that would stop it from lighting when the door is opened with the roof in the trunk (I have seen the light on when the roof is partially retracted and the door opened).  On the positive side of this is that when the roof is in the trunk, you most likely won't be leaving a door open for an extended period of time, but if there is a mouse in the trunk and your door is open, he is able to see just fine.

Just put your Phone or camera in movie mode and sit in a spot that will record what you want to know.  It's kinda like seeing if the refrigerator light goes out.        Bill
