Many paints are too red, Duplicolor 1605 Ford Red has the correct "orange" tint in the red. I used some and you cannot tell from some of the factory paint if you blend edges or separate parts w/ gasket ie:thermostat  housing. 34

Looks good. So rattle can paint of today holds up well to the abuse in an engine compartment then? I took a 40 year sabbatical from automotive world, and I know a lot has changed in that time.)

Duplicator makes primer, base and clear in their engine paint series. I just follow the instructions and it works well.

Really? Man...things have changed a lot. Although I remember being able to have paint "canned" in a spray can back in the early 80's to keep around for touch-up purposes.

Yup, the cans have a button on the bottom that you push in to break the catalyst.  My paint guy carries a small inventory of clear.  He does not recommend the single stage colors that have pearl and metallic in them as they always seam to come out much lighter then the original factory color.

When I have base coat mixed, I always have them make up a few spray cans for me. They come in real handy for doing areas where the spray gun is too long to get to some areas..........like the underside of the rockers and rear quarters. Good for touch up or painting small parts that need to match.......like my air intake.
