Mickey Thompson Connecting Rods

Buddy of mine picked these up.  Mickey Thompson cast in, a Capital T punched, no part number.
Anyone have any knowledge of them?

They look brand new. I guess your buddy could take a few measurements, center to center, big end, small end, to figure the application. Happy new year Terry!

I wonder if these are the NOS M/T aluminum FE rods a buddy from Ladner bought a couple of years ago in Seattle area, along with a new set of M/T 427 pistons. I can`t imagine there is too many sets like this floating around the Vancouver area.
1959 Meteor 2 door sedan , 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed. Been drag racing Fords (mostly FEs) 47 years and counting.
Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

PIC is a M/T rod out of my stroked cammer.  No part# on the rod.  Dimensions make it out to be Chrysler 440 rod.  They look like new.  That is the downside of used aluminum rods...even a used-up rod looks shiny brand new.

Thanks, I needed that.
I looked at a 63 !/2 here about 30 years ago.  I asked the owner what he does with it?
He said he starts it up and goes to the back of the car and enjoys it.
Went to Texas not long after that.  Guardsmen Blue with blue interior.

Buddy says -
These rods center to center are 6.750 and crank journal is 2.4988 and wrist pin is 0.982.
The T stamped in the rod that's shaped like the T on is logo is what's interesting.
Never seen a stamp like that.
Part numbers were cast on opposite side of rod from his name.

Like I said, mine had no part #.  Great looking stuff but I couldn't trust the rods, one piston missing, crank offset ground, and Diamond Piston guy said the setup was 15.0:1 CR.  I tossed it all for Diamond pistons, Scat crank, and Manley steel H rods.  4.250 bore and 4.250 stroke.

Thanks for the update, I just got this back from Gary Beck.

These are early, early Mickey aluminum rods.
Good keepsake pieces, historical artifacts, but I wouldn't use them in a serious horsepower or high RPM application.
They'll make excellent holders for small diameter clocks or paper towel racks. 


Top Fuel World Champion twice, I trust what he tells me.

This what Mickey's son Danny added.

I talked to Danny Thompson today and he said they were early sixty rods that would have been made for a specific engine so no numbers would have been on them.
He did not know why the T was stamped in them.
Said he was to young at that time and probably anyone that would know is dead.
