Hello,

Going to start setting up the linkage on my4100 Autolite. Here are my questions.

1) The foot throttle comes through the firewall and does it hook up to the bell crank like the left circle? I have a double adjustable rod that is about 18" or so and not sure where it goes. I don't have any pics of how it hooks up on a car.

2) Dealing with the PCV valve and vacuum. I have a vacuum port on the carb for the dist. can I port the PCV valve into the manifold at the back or should I use my spacer that has a port built into it? When I got the engine the crankcase fumes were vented to the oil filler cap and the spacer under the carb.

3) I am not using the vacuum portion of the fuel pump so are they good to block off?

Thank you,

The throttle linkage looks correct to me. The port on the carb is for ported vacuum to your carb. Pretty sure you could use either ports on the rear of the intake or the carb spacer. I've seen them run either way and functioned as they should.

Here's my linkage setup with the 272 2-v Autolite.

Using the port on the carb spacer will give better distribution to all cylinders. The one on the rear of the manifold will only be sent to the rear cylinders.

Ok, I think I have things mostly figured out. I hooked the TV rod up to the tranny (lots of slop though) and have clevis pins and bolts at both ends so can adjust easily. I just need a clevis bolt up top-no big deal.

I have hooked up the linkage from the carb to the bell crank-someone correct me if this hooked up incorrectly. Also, is the the threaded portion hooked up correctly? I looked at DMSFRR's linkage and it seems to be 'bolted' to the bell crank where as I have a clip.

The adjustable piece that goes from the throttle rod to the bell crank I think is broken. Can someone verify that I need a new one and where I might find one? Or is this something that I can get at Summit/McMaster Carr? Also, what are the little ball things called? I swear I asked here once before but can't find my post now.

Thanks,

It's called a Ball stud. Should be available at any chain auto  parts store.
