speedometer

put new speedometer housing and cable in my 57 now the speedometer only goes to about 12 or 13 miles per hour any ideas what to do. it had been unhooked for many years.

might not cure your  problem,  but,   discosnnect the cable  from front  face plate,  pull cable out from cable shaft about 1", install,  put back together,  might work,,might not,  any things worth a  try,    jerry

It will be a lot of work, but if you can pull the speedometer out. be sure the internals are clean and oil it with a precision oiler as used for clocks. Then you can test it on the bench with a drill motor. Hope this helps.
