Nice, I use to have 2 69 Mach 1s (and 3 70s as well), back in the 70s & 80s, before they were valuable collectors items. Both 69s and 1 70 were R code 428 Cobra Jets, 1 of the 69s, and the 70 were 4 speeds, and the other 2 70s were both M code 351 Cleveland 4 barrels, all 3 428 CJ cars and one of the M codes had Shaker hood scoops. Bought the first 70, a Grabber Orange Sportsroof M code, in 1976, at a used car lot, for $2100. the other 70 Mach 1, a Grabber Green M code cost me $2500. in 1979, the first 69 R code 4 speed Mach 1, I bought in the late 70s as well, the engine was out, but the big spline Toploader 4 speed and 31 spline Nodular 9" were still in it, paid $750. for that one, Bought the 70 428 CJ Mach 1 in 1980 for $2000. with a rebuilt engine and transmission, but a damaged LF 1/4 panel, and the 69 428 CJ automatic was $5000. in 1986. Nowadays, all the money that I paid for those 5 Mustangs wouldn`t buy you a rotted out, 6 cylinder Mustang notchback! Wish that I had the foresight t have hung onto my Mustangs, like Randy (RMK57) did, he has owned his 70 Boss 429 Mustang since the 70s!

Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

You undoubtedly have some skills Gary, beautiful work.
When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

...gutted, cleaned and ready for some Lizard Skin.  I'm not sure what to do with the extra time from NOT having rust to repair.

...more rust-free floors

No rust is a BEAUTIFUL THING!!!!

YES!  My Edsel was the first ever "rust free" as in no panel replacement or patching!  The Ranchero on the other hand.....

The pictures represent a very small amount of progress but it took a huge amount of cussin' to force my body into nearly impossible angles.  Once in position, the pain was replaced with gramps.  Ho Ho...having fun now!!!  Package tray and new speakers installed.

RICH MUISE

What is the white appears-to-be-brushed-on coating. It looks like rubber roof coating.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

KYBlueOval

Rich, I believe it is Lizard Skin that Gary mentioned in post #19.

OK..Thanks! I missed that.

Yes, the white stuff is Lizard Skin thermal.  It sprays with a low pressure, thick material gun used for drywall textured ceiling, rust proof or bedliner.  On completely striped body with no masking, I thin the material a little and turn up the pressure and spray multiple coats.  Since this application is still semi assembled and I didn't want the overspray, I sprayed two thick coats which tends to be a little more textured.  It took longer to mask off the car than to spray it.
