Front bumper finally installed today, starting to look like a car:

When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

Just perfect! Did you get the original one rechromed..or??
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

CobraJoe

Auto Metal Direct, (AMD) very reasonable and good quality. A heck of a lot cheaper than rechroming, I got a price of $500+

I picked up my new driveshaft today. I had it built locally with 3-1/2" TUBING, 1330 yokes on both ends w/Spicer U joints (w/ the larger 1.125" caps) and had it balanced also:

The original was 3" tubing and had 1310 U-joints:

It also had the factory rubber insulator:

QUICK UPDATE: The car is still in the body shop as they found a couple of pinholes in the quarter panel bodywork as well as a few tiny pinholes/air bubbles in the fiberglass hood scoop, so they redid them.

They repainted the quarter Saturday morning and it looks great; you'd never know it was redone. They have the scoop ready to shoot Monday, so after they buff the quarter and install the scoop, I hope to have it back Tuesday. 🤞

We did mange to get the shock tower brace welded in while we were there, it had been on backorder for 6 months, but it came out fine even though the car was already painted:

Nicely finished !
It really does speak for the shop and their work ethics, if they are willing to admit and correct their mistakes. very rare these days !

CobraJoe

Thanks DJ. They are really good about standing behind their work; to be honest with you, I was fine with the way it was, but they wouldn't here it.

They were able to spot weld the brace in place without disturbing the paint, which was really nice:

Thanks for the added "weld" information....couldn't figure out what you were talking about on that first pic.

I've been chasing a high speed vibration in my 65 Mustang fastback ever since I put in a Tremec T5, I'm on my second attempt to set the pinion angle in correlation with the slope of the transmission I'm curious if you Know how many degrees the motor/trans is sloped down and your pinion angle.

CobraJoe

@57chero I'll take some measurements and let you know.

I got the car back last night, so I got the Trunk mat, jack, lug wrench, spare etc... installed.

When I found a setup, it was pretty crusty:

I sand blasted and then bead blasted everything and got it painted up:

I mounted a bias-ply wide oval to try and keep it somewhat period correct:
