That looks pretty slick, I'D be tempted to leave the vinyl top off.

I couldn't if I wanted too; I asked him to go light on the paint and the clear on the top I wouldn't have a big build up on the drip rails.
When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

I couldn't help myself, after I picked up the cowl and hood scoop from the bodyshop, I had to place them on the car (along with the letters, lol):

Did you modify the rear suspension? The group looks great..AND CLEAN!!! You're lucky you don't live in dusty Texas
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

All I did was install new springs, bushings, etc.; the original's were really bad. I'm hoping they settle in a little with the weight of the bumper, gas tank, etc...

Tried my hand at installing a vinyl top....

Found the center and then taped one side down so it wouldn't move:

Taped off the areas I didn't want to get glued:

Then sprayed 12" across with glue on both the top and the roof and after it tacked, I rolled it out. Then I would smooth out the section and repeat until all the way down the side:

Then repeat on the opposite side:

Hope to finish the rest of it tomorrow.

Wow.impressive skills as usual Joe! I really like the Landau roofs. You hardly ever see them at car shows though. I hope that aerosol glue holds for you, but you don't have to deal with Texas sun, so you should be ok.

Didn't finish the top today, my buddies came by, so the motor got dropped in. The long tube headers were a pain in the ass, but  got them in. I'll have to loose the tie rod assist power steering, but I would rather have the long tubes:

We used to have something sort of like it until the last "upgrade" to the system.

Thanks Rich, very much appreciated!

Thanks, I still haven't finished the front suspension yet, it's actually the only part of the car I haven't touched yet. Still need to do the front struts, coil overs and a bigger sway bar hopefully and then I can paint it.

Beautiful !
Love the painted valve covers and sticker!
What glue did you use for the vinyl top and how did you spray it on? cans or spray gun? which brand and did you apply to both sides (car roof and inside the vinyl) or just one side ?
It really came out great and fits the car extremely well !

CobraJoe

Thanks DJ!
I used 3M Vinyl Glue in a spray can. I sprayed both until they got tacky and then pulled (rolled) it onto the top.
