I'd like to, but to be honest...better chance of the SVO being done. If the Fairlane were to be taken, it would be as a running project car, and not really be very easy to look at.
BUT...you could drive yours out and go with me!  :003:

Yeah, I had window urethane in there, but to be honest, I was concerned as the aftermarket rubber seemed to fit loose compared to others I have done.
When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

Starting over, it was a bitch getting it with the urethane....

Started back up yesterday and finished it up today.
First I put a bead of this non-drying butyl inside the rubber that seats on the pinch-weld:

...before I installed the string to pull the window onto the car (that proved to be interesting in itself!) :

I also placed a good size bead on the pinch-weld in all four corners where the metal overlaps before the installation.

Once it was installed, I poured water around the window as it says it can be water tested right away; I had a small leak in the two bottom corners.  I think this rubber is a smaller diameter than the original which doesn't fit as tight as it should, so I used low air pressure to blow out the water without shooting black butyl everywhere.  Then I used a plastic panel pry tool to pull the rubber up enough to get the caulking gun tip under enough to pump some more sealer in. Water tested it again and had one small leak on passenger side which sealed up with a little more butyl.

After that I placed a small bead of urethane between the glass and the rubber and let it dry overnight so I could trim it with a razorblade.

The butyl never dries so I was able to install the molding clips along with the molding today, they went on very easy:

It's finally done, but I must say, it was a VERY, VERY MESSY job, thank God for 3M Trim Adhesive Remover and lots of rags!

Re: the cobra sign.........yesterday I followed a Factory Five semi down I40 for 20 minutes or so. We were heading east.
The Torino is looking awesome. I'm not a big fan of the rat fink stuff, but your artist friend is an awesome painter..
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Didn't get much done on the car today as I was working on some other stuff, but did manage to get the new shifter handle and boot installed.

I didn't like the T5 Hurst shifter handle as it was a little too short and the smaller boot didn't fit the trans tunnel opening too well:

the roof looks great with all the chrome trim, glass and vinyl installed !
It appears yourt carpet has settled some. it also looks stunning in the pics.
Like Hugh, I also dig the sticker.

CobraJoe

Thanks, I didn't see the trailer at Scottsdale.

Gunther, I actually machined some spacers out of 1/2" black nylon roundstock and bored out the center for the shifter boot screws to pass through to hold it up to the shape of the rug so it would look presentable.
