Check out this Ranchero on bring a trailer with a chevy motor. Nice car but ruined it with that motor.

That motor make it junk.

A lot of people have put a Chevy in a Ford but a FE is for me!

Same here...Ford means Ford engine. My 2 Couriers will have 390/tri-power engines. The Fairlane is getting it's 312 back.

Sell the sbc/700R and swap in a 7.3 Godzilla would make it a good runner. Nice looking Ranchero just a piss poor drivetrain choice.

It's really puzzling why somebody would put so much time and money in to it and put a chevy in it, it's really going to limit buyers in my opinion. My latest modification on my Ranchero, adapters to put Y-Block valve covers on a sbf (351w).

mustang6984

Gee...I wonder  :017: where those came from? LOL!!! Now we know where their new home is!

Look really good too! Well done!

I like those Y block valve covers on the FE engine. Did it take a lot to
do it?
It certainly will keep them guessing.  HaHa.

57chero

I bought the adapters on ebay

Fairlane62

The valve covers are definitely prettier than Windsor, but distributor is on the wrong end.  But only us old guys would even know.  :002:

I've had a few guys walk by at car shows and say nice it still has the y-block in it, then they'll come back by later and look at it again and see me sitting there and ask what kind of motor is this and I'll explain what I did then there's others that walk by and say it's got a thunderbird motor in its all good makes for good conversation. By the way that 57 Ranchero with the chevy motor on Bring a trailer got up to $39,200 but didn't meet the reserve.

I was following that Ranchero, as it was well done in my opinion. I didn't like everything, but none the less it was well done.
What really struck me was the lack of photos of the truck bed. As I recall, the description said the bed was sprayed with "bed liner". Nothing wrong with doing that, but why would the seller not show the bed area? My guess is that the bed was not done very well. That is just a WAG,(Wild Ass Guess).

I too was watching the auction. Who takes off the wiper motor and doesn't put it back on? SyrFish
