Can anyone tell me what screws I need to put the chrome strips on the top of the bed on a 57 ranchero. Size, quantity & vendor. Thank you in advance. syrfish

I used stainless steel Philips head, number 10s or 12s, don't remember for sure.  Got them from my local Ace Hardware which has a superior fastener section.

Take a piece of the trim to your local hardware store and see which size screw head looks correct in the stamped recess for the screw. You'll know what size screw to use based on how the head of the screw sits in the depression. As Bill said, I think they are 10's

I think the factory originally used chrome plated OVAL head #8 trim screws.  After all these years it may now take #10 screws.  Auto parts stores should have oval head screws available.  John

I agree with all the replies, seems like some were longer than others it's been so long ago I could be wrong. I counted the ones on mine and there are 49.

The trim piece on the tail gate has two different lengths.  All the rest will use the same length.  I just don't know which ones on the tail gate are short.  You'll find out when the screw that is too long lifts the piece under the trim up a little.

One last thought about trim screws.  If the body hole is worn oversize, and you want to maintain original appearance, there are trim screws made #10 with #8 heads.   John
