57 Ranchero Rear Splash Guard behind the rear bumper

I am ALMOST done with my 12 year Ranchero Project and today, I was installing the rear bumper and was looking at the Bumper Splash Guard and have NO IDEA how it's supposed to be installed.
There are staple holes in the rear panel under the Tailgate, and I suppose that that is where this HUGE piece of rubber is supposed to go, and it came with a ton of staples, but I have absolutely NO IDEA which way it goes on and need someone MUCH smarter than me to help me to install this piece the RIGHT WAY the FIRST TIME...

HELP HELP HELP and old guy get this piece on the RIGHT WAY!!!!
