My daughter was taking the black and white pictures, thought I would share....
we put  85 miles on and got about 18 mpg. drove mostly on 66

and a 2nd gas station

RICH MUISE

Really really cool. Some things just look better in B & W. I wish they would restore more of the old stations on 66 out here...in my area they just keep using them run down, but I guess at least they are still there.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the pictures.  They bring back fond memories of driving back and forth  from Mass to California along Route 66 in the very early 60s.    Your custom looks just right in front of those old gas stations.   18 mpg is not too hard to take also.

I know this is somewhat off the subject but my love for old gas stations set me off. A friend of mine does 3d modeling and does great gas stations, here is one. I'm not as talented and only did the billboard. I made it from an old Ranchero advertisement and repainted in the paint scheme of my own.

thanks all. While we were out cruising, we stopped at a Mc Ds and there was a table of 6 guys. All retired and I
think 4 of them at one time or another had a 57 Custom and one had bought a 57  Sunliner in 59.
I think we made their day. They made ours better, we got hear some stories. These guys are 70 +.

I would agree I like the black / white pictures best. When we take them we try to keep anything out of
the picture so you cant tell what year it is.
Im glad you all like the pictures,we usually take the camera with us, You never know what you will see.

So if we are out and about we will take more and post them here.
I like the old gas station shots also, so post-em if ya got-em.

My car is no show car but it  photographs well.

Oh and for you guys in the warmer states, I am about 90 miles south of Chicago. So you know
how warm it is here. Burrr.  Now get out there and get wrenching :001:
