Over the years since the `57 Ford was produced, they have been used in various classes of drag racing. From the beginning, they competed in the Stock classes, and later, though not as numerous as the Brand X examples, in the Gas and Modified Production classes. As time passed, some of these old racers sometimes moved back to being street cars or faded away into oblivion behind some old barn or garage. A lucky few went on to become modified even further into modern drag cars. They made such great looking race cars, that many lightweight fiberglass replacement parts became available, even complete bodies, both full scale and 5/8 scale Pro Mod bodies. Whatever the tastes of the racer, and however intense the need for speed is or was, the 57 Ford found a place to race. It is our opinion, that there never was a better looking race car than the 57 Ford, be it Fairlane, Custom, Ranchero, Ranch Wagon, etc. Speed makes them look even better.
