Way back in the good old days (mid 60's) our Mac Tools guy was Herb Wiersig, and covered a tool sales route in Glendale, AZ.  This was way before the tool guys started driving the box box vans that were all lettered up with their graphics.

Herb drove a new baby blue painted (very stealth without any tool lettering) Ford Econoline and replaced it every few years.  He had some dealer installed optional factory left side doors installed.  It was like a early split window "Double Door" VW Kombi Van.  He had these huge slide out rolling cabinets.  It looked like they extended so far that it might do a wheelie with all of the tool inventory weight in those drawers.  The van weighed a ton.  He drove it everywhere with just the little six cylinder engine.  I'd guess it was a 144, or maybe a 200 cu in engine, and three on the tree shifting.

Lots of these Econoline's served many different trade workers.  It was a simpler time.
