50th anniversary of the Boss 302 and Boss 429. Both successful cars and engines for what they were built for.

Oh Randy...I have a 69...not a Boss car...but still. I do love those cars. If I ever were to win the LOTTO... :003:

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

I remember as a kid when they came out with a model of the bumblebee color scheme on the new '55 Ford. I talked my mom into buying me that Sunliner model car !

Actually it's not me in the picture, although I would have been 9 at the time. I only got the model, but wish my dad got that car.  There was a small used car lot that had a red/yellow painted '55 sunliner in town years later.

There were a total of 100 vehicles made in January 1957 with the Phase 1 supercharged engine, 15 T-birds, 20 Fairlane Convertibles and 65 Customs.  Only 4 of the Customs are known of.  I believe 12 T-birds exist and just 1 Fairlane Convertible has been found.

I wonder if the F code Customs were sold to Nascar teams and could be why there are so few remaining. Were the supercharged 312's even legal to race in Grand National events?

Superchargers (Ford) and Fuel injection (Chevy) were allowed in the Grand national class in '57.  They were both outlawed prior to the 1958 season.
