Thank you for the info Joe. Industrial grade makes sense. totally. with this application.
I also have been doing some upholstery work lately and used some locally available industrial glue, with a simple  air spray gun. It worked very well and the industrial stuff is so much better to work with.

Edd...dunno if you have heard of this guy or not, but he is a wealth of knowledge. He breaks down how to make panels with simple tools, how to repair and replace rusty spots or panels, welding tips...you name it.
Warning...watching him can be addictive. Go for it though.

Finally got the top finished up today, just waiting on some Landau Top Molding clips so I can fasten the molding near the trunk. Pretty happy with the outcome:

When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

Not A huge fan of vinyl tops but that one really seems to make the car feel nicer which I didn't think was possible. Beautiful job.

Just a beautiful color combination.  That black vinyl top and lower accent stripe just makes the body color pop.  Great job !!!!!!!

That's a really nice installation! Nicely done.

LOVE IT!  The top fits perfectly style wise.  I too think it is fitting to have it on the car!

Dissembled the grill today to straighten, polish and paint:

Got the headlight buckets out and in the bead blaster, they were nice and solid and able to read the part numbers :

After they were bead blasted, they were E Coated:

Polished up the aluminum too:

Once it was disassembled, I straightened it as much as I could:

I polished it on the buffer, taped it off, and painted with Trim Black:

I think it came out okay for a 57 year old grill:

I also polished up and painted the GT Emblem:
