Returning from SEMA?

CobraJoe

No sir, Barrett-Jackson, or do you mean FFR? I believe SEMA is usually in November?
When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

that makes sense ! It seems to have worked very well !

Quote from: CobraJoe on 2026-01-30 07:09Gunther, I actually machined some spacers out of 1/2" black nylon roundstock and bored out the center for the shifter boot screws to pass through to hold it up to the shape of the rug so it would look presentable.

CobraJoe

Managed to get the sail panels installed today. The hardest part was tucking it up under the window rubber with all the Butyl in there; just another messy job:

The passenger side has a few bubbles in it; it was fine, but the cardboard was too flat and when it bent to the contour of the sail it bubbled. I tried the heat gun to see if they would stick but it didn't work.
I then took it out, heated it up and removed the vinyl. I even contoured the panel and glued it back on but as soon as you stretch the fabric, it would flatten out, so it bubbled when I reinstalled it,
Hopefully the heat and sun will tighten it up???

Looking for honest opinions here: Do you guys think this shifter boot looks to big?

I couldn't find something in between the small one and this one, I did find bigger however. I don't know why you would need anything bigger than this though??

Actually the shifter boot works great with the heat seam pattern of the door cards and seat covers !

CobraJoe

As you probably have figured, I am a BIG Ed Roth/Rat Fink Guy

Here is a Rat Fink that Ed scribbled out for my son.

I covered my package tray with the same moonskin material as the headliner and sail panels and installed the speakers:

although the window is a "little" dirty, lol

I tried several times to install the rear seat back, but just couldn't do it alone.... sad

That sticker...summed up the reason I would NEVER judge cars at a show. Who am I to tell someone their car is not correct?

I had my F-1 in a car show in Vancouver and Ed Roth was set up across the aisle signing autographs.  I asked him if he could sign my truck, he replied 'bring it over', and would not get out of his lawn chair.  I asked him again and got the same reply, so I lifted the hood, spun my air cleaner off and took the cover over to him.  He signed it "For a Good Time 'Big Daddy' Roth."  It is now on the ceiling of my shop.

I ordered 4 feet of black stiched-windlace online to fill in the gap between the rear interior quarter panels and the pinch weld-windlace in the B-pillar:

I didn't like it as it only had about a 1/2" of material to tuck in the panels and it was only single stitched:

...so I went and see my local upholsterer and asked him if ho could make up some that was 1-1/2" wide after the rope and if he could double stich it; he said no problem and made it while I waited. Best $20 I ever spent:

It tucked in much better and finished it off:
