Just wondering if anyone has replaced the pull type park brake lever with the foot pedal system for a 59
Ford. If so, what parts did you need to use?

                 Thanks, Roger

I used a 65 Galaxie park brake pedal assembly and the cable from the pedal to the transmission crossmember for a 59 Galaxie pedal assembly

I do know that the '59 and '57 rear cross members are different, the parking cable cable brackets are different and I attributed that to the difference in parking brake cable available travel/force.

hey all. don't know about 58 fords, but 58 edsels used pedal type p.b. my wagons (2 early 58's were built on 57 ford platform with wiper motor in eng comp. while #3 was built on 58 style firewall wiper under dash) #.s 1 &2 built before sept 57, (one june 57, other august 57) #3 built december 57. all have pedal type p.b. maybe fords did same?. hope this helps. also, both early cars have rear cable anchor as a bolt on piece (in addition to o.g. welded bracket) later car has welded bracket only (located in same place as "added" bracket on early cars) ?? gerald.
