Somehow lost all the stuff I just wrote about this carb & don't want to start over.
Check this one out. I bought one 5 years ago for a future project, haven't used yet. Same 600cfm as an Autolite 4100. Saw lots of good reviews. "Plug & play carb." Nice features that I wish my Autolite 2100 & 4100s had. Top comes off like those Autolites. Looks?  It should be hidden under a large air cleaner.

Not sure what you're trying to find out but I doubt that I'd know anyway.
You may have already read some of this stuff like what's in thia Ford Muscle Forumn.
I learned a little something & now I may take a look at those things in my old 'spare' Autolites.

tom, thanks for the link. read several posts about this. just trying to sort out a poor running fresh rebuild (300hp/390) poor idle quality,very lean above idle circuit (1500-1800 rpm) carb appears to be "parts house"reman. pulled top, found 48 pri.jets, 56 sec jets. adjusted to 55/63.runs better still poor idle,very bad hot. carb base stamped c6sf-a. 66t-bird 352/390. makes me ask if it was reman as small block carb.has 1.08 venturies.

This may help

These numbers are for 4BBL carbs,
1.08= 480cfm
1.12= 600cfm
and a rare very rare
1.19= 670cfm.

Thanks for that, Jim. I was thinking that all the Autolite/Motorcraft 4100s were 600 CFM with 1.12 venturis. That's what all three of the 4100s I have are. One is on a 1969 351W & one on a 302. All my old 2100 two barrel 'parts carbs' have 1.08 venturis & apparently flow only 287cfm.
It's been quite a few years since I've seen the 4100 service manual that this web site has.
https://fordsix.com/archive/www.classicinlines.com/4100A.html
Tried to open that manual but now you have to sign up on that site to see it. Didn't feel like doing that right now & don't know if it would be much help. It did look different than the other Autolite 4100 service manuals, some as pdf files, that can be found on line.
On a 390 I think I'd forget about that little 480 cfm 4100 & go with an Autolite 4100 with 1.12 venturis or the previously mentioned Summit carb with it's nicer features.

I have a 4100 1.08 on my 289. Just for general info on the 2V many sizes

Number = CFM
.98 = 190
1.01 = 240
1.02 = 245
1.08 = 287
1.14 = 300
1.21 = 351
1.23 = 356
1.33 = 424

hey folks. thanks for all the info on the carbs. 3 times through the carb, no good results. further inspection revealed hairline crack in base through the pass side idle circuit near idle mix screw. don't know if thats the whole problem,but enough to ditch that carb in favor of a holley 600. carb very close to edsel/ford carb used on late 1950's f.e. motors. fit perfect, even found factory fuel line to fit !!. (spare edsel parts)

Tom, are you sure about a 69 351W having a Autolite 4100? I have never seen a factory installed 4100 on a car newer than 1967. And both my 351 Mach 1s that had 351s, had the Autolite 4300 carb.

Meteor, I'm not saying that a 1969 351W originally came with Autolite 4100s. I put it on that 351 when I put in a 1969 Econoline van. I wouldn't swap a 4100 for a Holley when the 4100s & those Summit carbs are so much easier to work on. You can pull the top of the 4100s & the Summits, change jets & adjust the floats without spilling gas all over the engine. You can even run the engine with carb top off ... as long as you don't move the car!
