The pic you posted of the pump in post #67 looks very much like the "canister" I had seen. I believe What it does is keep a small amount of gas available on start-up right at the pump so it's not sucking air. Others more knowledgeable hopefully will chime in.

here's a link to the in-tank mods I did. Scroll down a bit to get past the intake posts. https://57fordsforever.com/smf/index.php?topic=3750.300
I am not sure I was aware this was your first build. My avatar was my first project as well........my retirement project. Patience and a love of labor is the key to getting it finished!
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

after reading some I think that the in tank is better. But for now I will try this route since it's what I've got.  hopefully it will last a while to have some fun! But I bet in the long run I'll end up changing to the in tank! Yeah it's definitely a lot of labor😂 but as my wife always tells me when she asks me to do a project for her "you have never been afraid of hard work right?"
Also your car is amazing!

Everybody here will help and in the old days your help was at the gas station (or friends), no internet, computers, cell phones, you had to be self taught. Your journey is already one for the books! I'd wish you good luck but you already have found it.

Thank you! Yes I am very lucky to have found this site. I've enjoyed reading and learning all that I have already!

hey all. did the inline pump thing on a previous f.i.(early holley projection,g.m.tbi based) system. works well, until fuel level gets low enough to suck air. no fuel at the pump means no pressure at the injectors. long story short, don't pull out into fast moving traffic. ask me how i know this!!!. much better to have pump in the tank with a proper pick-up. Oh man! That sounds like a good time😂😂 thanks for the input. I will definitely look into swapping to in tank down the road. But at least I know this will work for the time being!

New fuel tank is in. Installed a return line to it. Got the new lines ran. Regulator installed. Finished and installed the new bracket for new fuel pump. All I have left is connecting line to the fuel pump and finish zip tying the lines up! Then I'll be on to wiring the sniper. And lastly figuring out throttle linkage!
