Congratulations on your "new" 57 Custom 300.  Yours is in far better shape than most.  My poor 57 was acquired with floorboards so rusty the seats could not be attached, a beat up 302 small block Ford, a T-10 that always popped out of 2nd, the original drum brakes and bias ply tires that looked old enough to have been original.  Yours is way cleaner and cost you less than half than what I paid.  Of course mine had a fresh paint job that looked ok.  Anyway, welcome to the site, there are lots of friendly guys on the site and lots of 57 experience.

Hello also from Europe !
Is this still the og paint ?
a beautiful car and if it was mine, I'd sure leave the og paint and just spot in the welded areas. there are not many og paint cars left and yours has just that kind of patina to look nicely aged. I bet the paint has a lot of shine left with a good polish.
the 428 is going to make this a WILD ride !

As far as I can tell it has had one repaint on the drivers side. The drivers front fender had been replaced and some repairs have been done on the quarter. The pictures make the paint look better than it is. The paint match on the front fender is off a few shades and the inside of the fender is red primer. I think the work was done in the late 60's, it would explain why there is considerable less rust on the drivers side vs the passenger side.
