  Happy to say that on 9-26-09 SMURFEE'S odometer rolled over for the 3rd. time, yep 300,250 miles on her right now

That's great Smurf. Mine is only at about 90,000 due to all the years of Drag racing.
But my 78 Ranchero is at about 250,000. Those 70,s cars were so terrible

My '57 owner's manual doesn't say anything about that mileage figure, but you may have some maintenance items due, like changing oil and filter, lubing, changing rear end oil, trans oil, packing wheel bearings.  See your local Ford dealer.  LOL.  Congratulations!  My '56 Bird has passed the 250,000 mark.
