What is the best shocks to use on a 57 ford ( custom 300 ) ? Do most of you go back with new original shocks, or is there a good proformance shock,( gas,coil over,etc )  that works better ? Brand,part number would be helpful,Thanks,Tarheel57

Gabriel gas charged shocks for the front, part 82099, available from most of the parts stores.
Rears are 81270.  I've used both of these.  Last time around I made the mistake of putting on a set of 90/10 Comp Engineering drag shocks.  They worked good at the track, ok on the street, but you couldnt go fast into a turn.  Then also I had 15x3.5 on the front too...The Gabriels or Monroe equivalents are really the way to go if you drive  your car.
