Looking for some experience on installing the rear quarter moldings on the 57 Ranchero. Has anybody done this recently and were you able to find a good push

in molding clip? I can only reach the first three clips , towards the front, to put nuts on the back of a standard t type clip. That was fine for those, but no way to get at the back of all the rest. So I'm hoping there is a clip available, push on type, to use for the other 5-6 that run to the tail end. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think your are talking about the stainless spear on the rear quarter.  I used the universal "cut to fit" and yep could not reach the center points.  Currently I'm thinking about pulling mine to re-align and using the stock push in for the center and will still use the universals at the ends.  r

R,
you refer to the stock type as push in. Were they not the rect. type that you squeezed with pliers to
spread? Kinda butterfly type. I need to find something also, as the wiz that skim coated my qtrs lost the
holes. I have re drilled, but now they're round holes instead of rect. The work that we pay for!!

Ron,
You are correct, the holes were square as I remember.  Someone on my car filled the holes also so I had to find and drill out.  I found mine while initial block sanding.   Now there are round also.   I read someone on a post long ago where someone found each hole and used files to make square again but a lot of work.  Finding and drilling now with a finish coat is a problem.

I was assuming the originals pushed in so you are probably correct about the pliers.  Hmmmmm, not sure what I will do now.

Yesterday I started cutting the universal clips to mount the front fender spears.  The fender is laying on its side.  When I attempted to rotate the spear into place the clips rolled over or fell out.  Stopped right there and said screw it (I think that was the term).

I went out today and got the universal clip which look like Concours 8A-16241-B at my local parts house.  Came home and mounted both spears.  They center the stainless where the cut to fit can be all over the board.

Since I used the cut to fit junk the door stainless, the stainless does not line up with the fenders.  Going back tomorrow to get more of the 8A-...

I may everything they have and re-do the quarters.
