Hi Guy's & Gal's
As you may know, or may not know, I have been restoring Bob Lee's 57. During the tare down I found a bunch of parts that were missing and I'm down to the last item. I need a source for the retainer clips that hold the plastic Instrument Cluster Face, Odometer Bezel to the Instrument panel. I think there are 12 clips total for both items. All were missing so I don't have a sample to post a pic of the clip. If you have a source or if you have a dozen that you can part with, please let Bob Lee or Myself know. Thanks A Bunch.

Hi everyone:

I've no idea what these clips look like, they aren't shown in the 1948-59 Ford Illustrated Parts Manual.  Any help you could give Rick and me would be really appreciated.  We have a fastener specialist out here in the West, that deals in all kinds of automotive fasteners, all makes.  He said if he could see what one looks like, he'd probably be able to help.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Bob

Bob, Rick...I'll check tommorrow to see if the instrument cluster from my car has the clips you're talking about. I've modified my dash so I won't be using a stock cluster, and if it has the clips you're welcome to them. I'll let you know...Rich

I got 'em. I can see 10 of them after poping off the plexi speedometer cover. I'll need to disassemble the cluster from the back to get to them. I'll try to do that tommorrow..if not definetly this weekend. pm me an address and I'll have them in the mail Monday morning. they look like spring steel, so hopefully not real brittle and breaking trying to get them out. Do you need a pic of where they go?  Rich

There are 13 in all, 10 on the speedo/gages plexi cover, and 3 on the odometer cover. They only hold on the plexi covers as you probably already know, allowing the plexi to be popped off from the front if needed. The sheet metal faces of the two mentioned units are held on by their own bend-over tabs. Each of the small clips has two teeth that put pressure on the plexi covers. As soon as I get an address I'll get them in the mail. I'll leave it assembled until I hear from you in case you've found some. I took pics of them assembled if you need to see where they go. Rich
