Cleaning a convertible top

Can anyone share their opinion or information on cleaning a convertible top.
I had one of my convertibles parked under another one of my cars which was on a drive on hoist and it leaked three small drops of transmission oil on the top before I start trying to remove the oil I thought I would ask first can you help in my dilemma?

Canvas or vinyl?

The Convertible top is of canvas & is less than a yr old.

Ron check with your local Ford store, they have a top cleaner for the 03/04 Mustang Cobras and the 02 - 05 Birds, both were canvas topped, maybe other models as well.

Look for a product called RagTop(sp). There are formulations for canvas and for vinyl. Available online and at some parts stores (O'Reilly's etc)
