well I finally got the car out for a tour this past Sunday. I picked it up from the paint shop Saturday morning and spent the day putting it back together. It sure looks different in black & silver from the red and white colour scheme. I still need to spend some time cleaning it up but thought I would post a couple pictures from the car show Sunday. I met with three of the past owners of the car as it was the 50th anniversary of the highwaymen car club. Turns out the car was originally built to race in a stock eliminator class in the 60's but due to rule changes the car was sold in favor of a different wheelbase model. hope you like it!

Great looking car....great looking color combo....how do you like it over the original red/white? They sure look different with the Canadian version side trim. I noticed the original grille was changed in favor of the U.S. version. I'd like to see some more pics..interior, engine, etc.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

wow, sorry for the dupicate pictures! I am not a fan of red, let alone the milky colour that was on the car. I know it was more of an original combo but it was tired and needed an update anyway.I think it could use some chrome or polished wheels with this combo. I will get a few shots of the engine bay and interior in the next few days. I really want to put the meteor grille back in if I can find one. Now that it's road worthy we will definitely have it at the Good Guys meet in Columbus Ohio in July.

looks great, hope you find your meteor grille will really compliment the rest of the car. I searched for 5-6 years to find one for my 51 wasn't easy but if I found one my guess is you will too.

That looks awesome.  It will look killer when you find the Meteor grille for it.

Thanks everyone! I will get some miles on it in the next few weeks just to make sure it is good to go. Hate to break down on the interstate.

Curious as all get out, how does one narrow a forged axle?
