Overdrive

When I bought this Custom 300 4dr last winter, I found that the hot lead to the overdrive relay was disconnected from the ignition switch. The fuse in the relay is good.  Does anyone have lots of experience with the 57 overdrive to know why the former owner might have disconnected it. I don't necessarily need overdrive, but maybe sometime I might want to get it working again. Thanks.

If the former owner didn't want the overdrive working, like he only drove in the city, and just pulled the lockout cable, I think the solenoid would still try to engage when you reached 30 mph.  Wouldn't hurt anything, but maybe he didn't want that to happen.  Pulling the fuse would have been much easier though.
