im working on getting this 351c into the new car...   just a quick question and i should be off to the races...  to any of you guys who may have made this swap yourself....   what did you do about clearing the steering with the exhaust manifold/headers???  move steering??  or some other fancy piece of work you could make me aware of!!!  thanks in advance!!!

I used Hedman headers on mine, for a 70 Mustang with 351C 4v.  You may or may not have to dent the headers by the idler arm, depending on your motor mounts and brand of headers.  The pitman clears ok though.

I put a 351 Cleveland in my 57 Custom 300 many years ago and had no clearance problems with the steering.  I just used the cast iron manifolds that came with the engine.  I am now finishing up a complete rebuild of the car which now has custom headers. I don't need the cast manifolds if you want them. They were for the 4V heads, which I still have and would like get rid of as well. I also have an Edelbrock 4 Barrel Intake Manifold for this engine that is for sale.

i have the stock cast iron manifolds for the engine and to be honest i have not tried them yet, but looking at where the engine is sitting it does not look like they will fit...  but i will try them tomorrow!  to be honest i have never done a swap like this before and am just feeling my way through...the motor mounts i have bolt into the stock location on the 57' and that may be part of the problem, dont recall where i bought them, but they were advertised to make the swap without major modification..
