C4 question

I did a search over the weekend and couldn't find anything. This winter I am looking at a 351w and a C4.  What would I have to do with the Trans crossmember? Is it a lot of fabing like the C6? Or what would be a better fit?

I've switched out small blocks/C4s to FEs with C6 and used the same cross member in late '60s Fairlanes and Mustangs.  The pan is smaller on the C4.  In a '57, the C6 requires relieving the cross member for pan clearance.  Smaller pan...less cutting???

Cool. I also looked at Y-blocks page, and a couple guys there said they just elongated the holes. That sound right?
