What shocks with aerostar coils ??

I installed the new aerostar coil springs, now what shocks do I use ??

Check Rob's project 302 's last video...his wagon has the aerostar springs, and one of the things done on the last video was adding new shocks...you may have to check with him to get part numbers, and whether or not he was happy with the new shocks chosen.

The stock shocks will work just fine.  Automotive shocks are linear so the range of travel makes no difference as long as they don't "bottom" hard fully extended or compressed.  They may have different valving rates for compression and rebound but those rates are linear top to bottom.  I would put new shocks on as a wear pattern may have been established in the existing shocks.

The same can not be said about the new magnetic variable rate shocks.

Yep. I put stock ones on mine with aerostar coils. No problems.

Yep...I just used inexpensive stock shocks from KYB. I actually forget where I bought them off the top of my head, but you can find them at most places...

We did need to open up the mounting holes a bit for the bolts to line up...see video...fast forward to 7:30 in the video...

It's been a few months and I have been driving regularly most weekends. The Aerostar springs and these shocks have settled-in nicely. I love the ride height and the ride handles nice.

The rack and pinion steering is breaking in nicely, too.
