Part interchange help

Can any one tell me if the rear 1/4 glass and frames from a 57 Lincoln Premier will interchange with a 57 Fairlane 63A (2 door no post). The part numbers for the 57 Fairlane are BAC6329944A and the part number for the Lincoln is BY6029944A. They look the same and I am in desperate need for a set so I can complete my car and get it on the road. I am afraid I know the answer but they look identical and I hate to miss out on a set since I have not had any luck on locating a set. I would appreciate any help in this matter from the wise men of 57 Fordsforever...Thanks

Have you tried "The Ford Barn"?  They have a bunch over there that has lots of back ground with Fords in general.  There's one guy that has answered nearly every parts number question that has been posted.

Wow! Did a Google image search and the rear glass looks like it might work. But nothing forward of the door glass looks workable. Be interesting if they do. Is there a glass guy in your area that does old cars and has patterns ? If so he'd be the guy to ask.  Keep us posted.

Have you placed a Wanted ad on this site ? If not do so.

According to classicflatglass.com the Lincoln glass is 2 inches taller than the Ford glass, but the same length.

Keep us posted, Kerby. I may be in Phoenix next week..can check out the yards there for you if you still need. We may need to cancel our trip because of a looming furlough my wife may get first of Nov. due to government shutdown. #$@**$#! We were planning on leaving Thursday night, but the prospects of our income being cut off got us a little worried to say the least.

Thanks for the responses. I do not have a local source for the glass cutting specs. All I know is I would have to take my old glass to use them as templates. The frames look so close and the part number too. I did post a need on the wanted section but no luck. I will try the sources you have suggested. Boss thanks for checking out the measurements, that helps nail it down, Rich and Zapato, and Blue hood Thanks for your help..

There are several "Salvage Yards" listed in the parts suppliers list. One of them is bound to be able to help you.

I understood you were looking for the glass and frames, is that correct?

Yes I am looking for the glass and frames but will take just the frames.. Just an FYI i tried the recommended locations from earlier and no luck. I did post a request on the ford barn. I will see what that turns up. Thanks Rich..

If I could make a suggestion, put your location in your avatar. Someone might know of a car nearby, but don't chime in because you might be half way across the country

I wish everyone would do that. I also wish it was a requirement when joining.
