Hotroddonnie has been giving me parts for my 57 since his Gasser is 98% done....
at anyrate... he had a complete front frame with full suspension he was not using.... he has had several cars.....
I was trying to tell the difference from 6 cylinder front coils and V/8....
Is the only way from the VIN#?
Or is there a coil count?...or....???
Donnie is my early Ford parts store! ..... hahahah

Jeff
I can go out tho the shop tomorrow and count the coils on that 6 cyl 57 in the shop if you want.  It will be easy because it has no front end sheet metal on it.

Jay should take a caliper.  I am pretty sure that any difference would be in the diameter of the coils & not the number of them.

That would be my guess as well.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Rich, I should rephrase.   Actually I am not just pretty sure that it is the diameter of the coils, I am positive.
Not quite like this, but ...

"Really!" the other replied, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I 'm positive."

But what is the diameter of the individual coils?  See my prior posts?
I bet that there are 8 coils on the V8 ones too.

Tom S and Jeff
I looked again today at the 6 cylinder front spring.
There are 8 1/4 coils and they miked up to .704 in diameter.
