There is a lot going on down there and you are correct there are lots of 57s.  Thanks to the Thunder Rd. movie and Robert Mitchum, they do have a tendency to lean toward our cars.   I have a friend down there who built a clone to 50/51 Ford that was blown up at the gas station.  He's friendly with Jim Mitchum, RM's son and there are pictures of him pouring off a cup of shine from the valve on the clone car.

Jay..I really have to make this show!

I was there in 2009 when Jim Mitchum was the Grand Marshall. A lot of Thunder Road hype. Movie showing all the time. Lot of local moonshiner interviews and history. Took my 57 Custom on the Thunder Road tour on some roads that were filmed in the movie. Was there with the tasting from the 50-51 "tanker" car!!!  Still regret to this day I didn't ask Jim what color his dad's (brother's) Fairlane 500 was in the movie. Yes, a ton of 57s and 40s. You will not be disappointed.

Well.. can't do it this year.. but maybe next!
If any members from here do plan to attend.. please take lots of pics!!

Sure would like to take my car there next year.  Would be a good chance to hook up with some people.

Jerry's Kars
Did you take a 57 Ford to the show?

Jeff Norwell

Maybe next year it would be a good place to have a 57Fordsforever meeting....
that would be very cool!

What do you guys think?  How many would be interested in making a trip as representatives of 57 Fords International?  How cool would that be?   Let's get an idea of how many 57s we could get together...I would be willing to work overtime on mine to get it together for it.  Probably wouldn't have interior but it would be running and there...what do you guys think?  I love it...thanks for the idea Jeff...

Guy's I was headed out in the morning for the Moonshine run, but my welder Fabricator, passed away and he has been a good friend for many years. If you want to make plans for next year, you can count me in.
We will have to make plans early, to get numbered parking and to go on the run ,which has a dead line to sign up for. Tom

Ecode, Yes had my 57 Supercharged Custom there at the Museum car show. They have cars parked all over town. Not sure how one gets one of those spots. Jerry Ponder did some work on my car and I picked it up and went to the show. Went on the Moonshine Run and it rained almost all the way, but was really neat. 57 Fords in front of me and behind. After the show on Sunday, taking the car to the condo where we were staying, the darned thing stops and leaves me on the side of a narrow Ga. road. Thought it was the MSD and with Ponder's help on the phone rewired it. No go. Then fuel? Unhooked the SC and replaced the carb. Just happened to have a good teapot in the trunk. Good to go. Just a stuck needle valve. Ponder fixed that for me the next day. Maybe you guys don't want me in that reunion.

I'm absolutely in for a meet up at the show. If it's all planned up and arranged for next year, that'll give me enough time to get either the Ranchero or the Del Rio down here from NY, maybe I can swing both of them. I'd rather have the sedan, but that one is to far away from being roadworthy sadly. One day though, I'll have all 3 there count on that.
Ban low performance driver's, not high performance cars.

Dang.. this could be really good!

Wildhog..sorry and condolenses on your pal.
