Went to the junkyard today and spotted a 63 T-bird.  Went over to check it out and 3 hour later (what a pain with limited tools, lying under the dash in the cold) was walking out with a swing away column and grabbed the wiper setup too.  I think I am going to try to make in work in my wagon.  It is in good shape and just need a little clean up.  I started cleaning the chrome after I took these pictures.  The chrome cleaned up good and the steering wheel has no cracks.   63 T-birds use a rag joint so I should be able to figure it out when I do the rack and pinion conversion.  Any thoughts, ideas, or warnings let me know.  I will start pulling the 57 stock column this week.
Here it is at home.

Has auto shift linkage and this cool shift indicator.

Looks like a cool project...love those engineering challenges. shift indicator....hmmm....weren't you going with a 5 speed? I spent the day in a salvage yard as well...I'll do a post in the 4.6 install thread.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Yes a 5 speed automatic, but I am sure I can figure that part out.  Stock Mustang auto shifter does not have a shifter slot for each gear.  Just one more detent than this one.
