Beautiful Volkswagen, my wife and I really enjoyed the 63 bug we had, I noticed on the front are you allowed to move license plates around over there like that??? Great Pictures...

RICH MUISE

Thanks for sharing, Gunter! That's a beautifully kept car.
I must admit, I DO like the new versions of the bug, they kept the old vibes and molded it into something more modern. Kudos to VW! I'm curious how you like them Gunter.

Thank you ! Yes we are allowed to have up to 3 cars registered to the same licence plates, but of course - only one can be driven at a given time. This is mostly meant for collector cars. Tax and insurance is only collected for the highest hp rated vehicle.

well Rich, yes and no. I think they did a good job in creating an outstanding retro design, while keeping the silhouette of the original. I especially liked the new cabriolet, which came in great color combos, but I believe is also discontinued by now.
I really didn't care too much about the drive train, with front driven watercooled modern engines and even a Diesel. Which really is a long way from the original aircooled rear driven and rear mounted gas engine.
My 1.2L 40(SAE) hp engine did over 31 mpg(!) on this trip. very respectable for an ancient prewar engine type in a 65 year old car with super tall 16" bias ply wheels.

Happy 4th to all the members, and especially to those who are veterans. I've been watching alot of the 250 year stuff going on, makes one proud to be an American. When you are my age (gonna be 80 in a few), it makes you realize how young this country really is, I mean, I'm almost 1/3 the age of the United States!

Belated Happy 4th!!
When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

I am a 80 year old blue blood Ford guy.  I am new to the site and in the process of buying a D code and having it delivered.
It will have my original owned 68 F-100 Ranger and the 67 XL as company.

RICH MUISE

Welcome to the site, Kenny, and thanks for the introduction. Post some pics when you get it! What model?

Fairlane club coupe white over yellow.  It currently is a driver. Has a lot of options except ac.  I hope the 312 is still in it.  Over the years no telling if the engine was swapped for a 292 or worse a 272. :book1:  bart  bart

Ford Blue blood

Kenny glad to have another blue blooder in the crowd!  Welcome, great bunch of guys here.  Tons of info on just about any Ford product and everybody shares.

I have been to the Barber museum 3 times and it just knocks me out every time.  The last time we took the "special" tour to see the basement projects.

Been there myself, basement is really fascinating.  My brother-in-law is a motorcycle nut, eats, sleeps and rides 24/7!  Took him there and caused an overload, he has never seen so many different motorcycles in one place.  Took all day for him to see it all.
