I am still looking for my old race car from the 60's.
FORD COUNTRY
It was a poppy-red 1957.
I will try to add a picture.

I like that..that pic just went into my desktop wallpaper rotation.  Awesome old race car.  What was in it?

I may have seen that pickup at a goodguys show...awesome, so many subtle changes. If it was his, I sure didn't know who I was talking to when he gave me a "tour" of the build. I may have a pic of it in my old archives.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

That sounds like Gary, he's always willing to talk cars. One of those guys that whoever he meets is treated as a new friend. Which is why he's successful in his business. Believe that 57 was featured in Street Rodder and its an incredible example of the sows ear changing into a silk purse.

James, Harry can tell you more, but Ford country had a high winding small block! Put a lot of bowties back on the trailer.

I think Gary Coe was from Washington state, but made the rounds to the division 6 tracks. It ran a 427 h/r with a 4-speed. With the altered wheelbase it really was a handful!
Randy, the Gunfighter was actually powered by a small block Ford, not a FE. Now, John Haskells shorty 57 Ford wagon DID have a FE. At the bremerton All Ford Drags in the early 80s, Haskell brought out his yellow and white wagon, and it had a single 4 barrel 427 Hi Hiser and Jerico 4 speed in it.I still have a photo of his wagon racing my old 428 4 speed 70 Mach 1 at that race.
1959 Meteor 2 door sedan , 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed. Been drag racing Fords (mostly FEs) 47 years and counting.
Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

Hey Rory, is that you?
If I remember correctly wasn't that 57 wagon shortened about 3 feet?

Hi Randy, yeah, its me. As for Haskells 57 wagon, I think it was a 4 door with the rear doors removed, and the rear body moved foreward. So yes, likely about 2 1/2-3 feet shorter than stock. That weekend at Bremerton was the only time I ever saw the car.
