1960 galaxie steering box

I found one cheap, so what's involved in swapping over from 57 box?
My column and S/B are coupled together so how does this bolt up with my
original steering column? Not concerned about the horn, Ill use a push button on the dash.

It will bolt in with no problems . you will need a pitman arm from a 58 or 59 ford . the 57 splines are different and IIRC the steering wheel spline is different. All the steering boxes and columms are basically the same from 58 thru 63. The 64 box is the first year to use a rag joint but the box and column from a 64 will bolt in, had one in my 57 years ago.

What dgasman said is correct. If you plan on keeping the 57 wheel you can hand file out the one large spline. That's what I did when I put the 58 box in..

If one would put a 64 box and column in, what kinds of problems are there with hooking the turn signal wires  up to the 64 column?

You can use the 57 column with the 60 box. The steering shaft is part of the box and the column is just a hollow tube that slips over it and is retained to the box with a clamp. dgasman said you'll need a 58-59 pitman arm, I know the 57 won't work but don't know what is different with the 60.

Thanks for the reply, guess I'll have to start researching pitman arms now.

They do make different lengths, drops, splines, etc, for the 4x4 crowd
so that may be something I may look into.
