Just trying the picture resize per Rich. This pic is when I had the new windsheild ready to install.

Looks like it worked, but 20 percent is a bit small. Had to do a bit different on my computer  where the instructions said a window would pop up asking to save or not. Had to go to the top left option to save.  Thanks Rich. Will try a few pics sometime later.

Never saw this post, Cluster...sorry. Yes, in your case the 20% was way too small. When you open the pic in paint, if the original pic is really large (2,3,or4k)you'll only see a portion of the pic, if you see the whole pic, it's probably ok the way it is. The pop up window to save comes up then you click on the X to close the paint window. Saving the way you did is good when you want to save your new sized pic without losing the higher pixel count in the original because both are saved.
I suspect you may have used the percentage reduction multiple times to get your sample pic that small. If your first attempt wasn't what you wanted, then the best way is to undo the first attempt so the pic goes back to it's original size before you try a different percentage. That way you're not reducing a reduced pic.
Remember when you use the % reductions, it is reducing the size by both the length and width, so a 50% reduction both ways results in a pic that is 1/4 of it's original size.

pretty much lost everything in the last Photo Bucket upgrade.  Upgrade seemed to be more work than what it was worth.

I guess the main question for me is...when you post a pic from photobucket here, is the pic permanently here, or is it a link to photobucket which can disappear, causing the dreaded red x?

I keep yappin' about Irfanview (free). What I do now is copy whatever pics I want to post, email, or upload to a new folder then use the batch conversion in the Irf. This way it's done all at once and the originals are safe. With the big pics my camera is set at I do a 25% reduction which makes them around the std 1024x768. I do the same reduction to put the pics on Picassa (didn't like Photobucket) so it doesn't take 40 days and 40 nights to upload.

Yes Rich, this will happen. But with any photo hosting company, this is the case.
As for saving photos,I have always worked on a mac and use iPhoto that comes installed with the system.I always back up my orig. pics and keep them for safe keeping.

Gary,I felt your pain too with the photo bucket upgrade a few years back. But i got my head around it and it works fine for me at this point.
