I need a visual of the stock Z Bar clamp that bolts to the top of the frame rail on my 57.Also, I need a visual for the 2 brass retainer clips that go with it.
I would also like a visual on a 61-63 Z Bar for a Fe of that period.
I am in need of these items and I kinda need to see what i will need before my hunt can start.
I hope my terminology is correct.
Thanks guys!

I should explain better, the project is getting a FE and using a FE Z Bar (or equalizer bar as some refer it) and I need the factory 57 Ford Frame stuff from a manual 57.Mine are long gone.

Doing my best to convert your request to English  :003: Hope this is what you are talking about. The brass retainer clips are bronze I think, pivot bushings and can be purchased new.

Jeff...The the piece that Jim posted is the frame piece that we were talking about and he's right, the two bronze pieces are bushings.
Now you need to see the opposite piece that bolts to the left side of an FE engine.
I know that other year equalizer bar / Z bars will fit the 57, but you should be looking for a 57 one because it will fit the 57 attaching  pieces that you already have without making a minor modification.   Jay

Jeff, As far as I know the FE and Ybocks used the same piece on the engine. Looks like this and takes 2 bushings on that side too, you need a total of four. There is also a felt type seal that goes on each end. And as Jay mentioned use a 57 Z bar.

I will tell you also that you need to elongate the holes in the bracket that goes on the motor so you can drop it down the least bit so the Z-bar  won't be cocked after installation.

Jim, from my very old fuzzy memory I seem to recall that if you use the 58 FE engine mounts they are shorter then the later model ones and the engine sits low enough that the bar isn't cocked????????

As a side note,I plan on using 58 FE mounts and on the tranny mount, add to the existing trans pad by 3-4 inches.(heading towards the rear of the car) if that makes any sense!
I know all this is in theory at the moment and really can't trial fit the FE engine until it gets warmer(Late spring)

Or you could go hydraulic throw out bearing.  Super easy to push...self adjusting...no linkage noise...no linkage conflict with headers.
