Did they ever really build a   :canada: Meteor Ranchero :canada: ? And besides the center section of the grille being on this car is there any designation that quarantees it as a factory Meteor ?

What kind of difficulties does one run into buying a rig in canada and bringing it back.

Not sure about exporting a car to the U.S. But importing a car from the states into Canada you have to give U.S. Customs 72 hours notice prior to the car arriving at the border. They need a copy of the registration and some other info which should be available online. Basically customs just wants to make sure the vehicle isn't stolen.
I bought my custom up from California a few years back. Everything went quite smoothly, U.S. Customs did there inspection at the border and proceeded to Canada customs for more inspections,
Paid provincial taxes and towed it home.
I remember there are only two places where they do inspections and that would be at the pacific truck crossing and the crossing in Oroville/ Osoyoos.

Al. just another note on border crossing.Have respect, keep your business short sweet and to the point. You will need a passport. The game has changed since 9/11.
No funny business on bill of sale or anything like that.
Sounds crazy? but customs officers have more power than any authority in both countries.
If anyone has a DUI or even a minor assault charge, you are never gonna go across.
Just a heads up.

I searched for years for a 1951 Meteor grill, and had several friends up north searching for me. Finally thru the HAMB community one was found and purchased. At a reasonable price. Not sure how spendy those pieces are up north but I've seen 49-50 grilles sell several times in the $1500 range. Anyone have production numbers on the 57s, surely couldn't have been that many built. Specially in the customs, rancheros and wagons.
