Great day to celebrate . . . first the obvious . . . and second the completion of my Custom 300. I just finished the rack and pinion installation this morning and the car is now "completely done" . . . or as complete as they ever get. I'm sure by this time next week I will have started a new list of things to do, but it's nice to know that the new list will be small stuff. Everyone have a fun and safe holiday!

Awesome!! Got any photos of the finished product?  Glad to hear it's done.  Enjoy it!!

Thanks for asking. I just happen to have a couple photos of my new daily driver. My Ranchero is going into shop next Monday to freshen up the upholstery then both of my '57s will be finished . . . can't wait!

very very nice..that's a great looking car, nice clean lines.  What size wheels and tires are you running, and a related question due to different wheel size requirements...are you running disc brakes?
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

BBoswell

Disk brakes front and drum rear.
Wheels are 15" x 7" with 3.850 backspace all around.
Tires up front are P195/65 R15 and rears are P215/75 R15.

I have lots of fun with the younger kids and their little fast and furious type cars around here. The car looks pretty much stock except for stance and wheels and is very quite running. But I'm running a 460 with a mild cam, C6 tranny and posi-rear end . . . so when I open the electric exhaust cutouts at the stop lights it's fun to watch there chins drop.

Who thought life could be this much fun at 70?

Nice looking ride, I'd like to see the ranchero too!

Thanks for the reply on the tires...that's the set-up I was hoping you had. Any problems getting the back tires off? I know you said it was a new ride for you..maybe you haven't tried to get them off. Those are torque thrusters, correct?

Frankenstein57 ? I'll pull a couple of picture together of the Ranchero

Rich ? As for the wheels they are American Eagle Alloys 111 Series wheels. Got them thru Summit at about $119 a pop. Reasonably priced and nice looking. You could go with a slightly narrower rear tire and with a little finesse be able to get it off. With this width tire I have to undo the shock(s) to get them off. But with the 460 and my lead foot I need as much rubber in back so I just have to deal with it.

RICH MUISE

Jim Nolan came up with an alternate shock solution for the shocks not letting the rear drop far enough. I know, lol, just when you though it was done...

that is one tough ride ! looks gorgeous in white with the 300 trim. perfect wheels and stance, awesome car !

Thanks Rich, that's a great idea Jim had on the shocks. I'll order a pair and that will be my first thing on my new list. Now if he could just come up with an idea how to get the rear tires off my Ranchero without having to drop down the entire rear end I would be in good shape . . .

And as requested by Frankenstein7 here are a couple of photo of the Ranchero. Interior is getting changed out next week to have more of a drag car look.

Thanks for all the cudos on my Custom 300. There are some outstanding 57's in this group and it's always nice when your fellow Ford guys like your efforts. That and driving them is what makes it worthwhile.

Looks pretty wild, now I remember it, Mark

That's a nice looking ride.  I like the idea of the electric cutouts.  That's a new one on me.  I'm going to have to look into something like that.
