Had a great visit with Jay Arrow on Monday.   Thanks for the excellent hospitality in your beautiful state.  Lots of interesting and historical things to see, not to mention his super fine collection of old Fords.  As much as I love 57 Fords, I have to admit, my favorite of all of them was the black Thunder Road 40 Ford.  Such an awesome old car.  Dont get me wrong now, the 57 e code business coupe is right there with it.  We took some photos and I tried to upload them here but they were too big.  I don't have a way to resize them here so I will do it this evening when I get home.  Again, thank you for your hospitality during my visit. Made a working trip into a really  good time.

That is great! I hope to meet Jay if I ever get back up in those woods...he's not too far from my home area., and my sister lives just a few towns over.
A Southerner and a New Englander, hmmm....any problems communicating? It's almost like two different languages....I haven't talked to you, James, but I have talked to Jay..he sounds like I did 40 years ago.

I have never met Jay but he helped me with a trunk lock part and I won't forget to pay it forward when I can. I really appreciate all on this forum.

I've had the pleasure of dealing a few parts back and forth and some nice phone conversations and emails, he's a super guy. I think about him everyday when I grab my steering wheel  :003:

lol..The language thing is funny..The waitress at the restaurant asked me, "You're not from Massachusetts are you?".I just grinned and said, naw, lol...It was fun.  She was from "Baston", she said anyway, that I was to pack my cah out front.  I told her Jay was driving, so it was all good, lol.

At the beginning of December, James came to Mass. on business.  After renting a car and getting settled in, he made the long drive over 200 miles round trip to visit me and see my junk collection.  In the very few hours that we had, we did manage to drive around a little in a couple of the cars.   I took him for a drive along Savery Avenue, America's first divided highway.  We  finished the evening off by visiting Dave's Diner.    It's one of those old stainless steel diners from the 50's.  James was the one that the waitress kept picking on about talking with an accent, not me.   Around here , I talk normal. HA HA.  We had a great time.  It's too bad that we had less than an hour of daylight.  Jay

Jeff...I think that it was Donnie who talked me into making my car into a gasser.  It took me a long time to find a big enough tire to lay against the quarters so I could scribe a line for torching out the the radii.
