you need it. the TV cable will adjust hydraulic transmission pressure according to your accelerator pedal/carb linkage ( originally the FI throttle valve). take your time with the adjustment. it is not so difficult. you will need a pressure gauge and braided hose. lokar cable includes a how to sheet.

Thanks, I've just looked at the Lokar set up and it's added to my "need" list.  It would have been so much easier with a stick shift!

The AOD that was in my car had kick down throttle linkage and no cable. As far as I know it all worked ok except it started in gear and was connected to manual column shift linkage with no "PRNDL" indictator. The TV cable was news to me , I'd never heard of such. Toploader for me! :003:

I've heard the term "TV cable" frequently, but never understood why it was called that. I'm sure somebody here will explain it.

Look at the link I posted.... it is for a "Throttle Valve Cable Corrector Kit". Automotive kickdown transmission kickdown cable is the part type.
