The heater core is in and the heater works like a new car. The Weiand intake is on and the car runs like a scalded ape. And yesterday I installed the tube grille and I like the look. And now I can say yesterday was a good day . . . because my '57 Custom 300 project is finally completed. There are still a couple of tweeks and adjustments here and there that will need to be done . . . but it is finished . . . or as finished as these cars ever really get. Attached are several pictures. Now I can get started finishing up my Ranchero. There will be some cool one-of-a-kind fabrication to be done on it.

That is one fine looking automobile there Sir. Outstanding job. Well Done.  :canada:

That looks awesome, Boz!! Nicely done..clean, tasteful. Congrats on finishing her up. Something about a white '57 that always looks good. I agree on the tube grille, I like the look.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Nice stance. Car looks really sharp in white, I like it.

Man they must have sold a lot of those Sun tachs, I've got a couple and you see them everywhere, even today.

I like the stance as well, looks great! Are those spacers under the spare for a flat , more level surface for it to sit on? Seems like a good idea, nice plate over the spare tire well, storage there?

Thanks for the cudos guys.

Since the spare didn't fit in the wheel well I had to do something so I made a false floorboard and built an angled spacer with a round top slightly smaller than the tire and carpeted it all. The whole piece lifts out as one unit but is snug fitting and heavy enough to stay in place. And yep the wheel well became a tool box.

I'm running a 460 with a C6 and a posi with 3.00:1 gears

I'm running the same intake but I used a dropped air filter base, doesn't look like I had to.
That intake is almost 7" tall with huge runners better suited for a bigger engine with lots more camshaft, up to 6500-6800 rpm. They are priced right though.
Haven't decided whether I'm going to keep mine or swap it for a E-Brock performer or Airgap on my 502 stroker.

Everything about your car is clean and  beautiful.    Words just can not express how much I like it.  White on a custom looks just great.  Jay

This manifold did wonders for my 460 with a mild cam . . . but I had a stock manifold so anything would have been better. It actually runs like a different car and even the exhaust sounds different. I'm definitely keeping it. You are right about it being tall. I had to change the top part of the air cleaner for one that was flat.

The car looks great. For me, White is hard to beat. I sure wish mine was closer to being in that shape, maybe someday.

Jerry . . .

I got the tube grille from J.W. Enterprises out of Lake Elisnore, California. See http://www.customgrills.com

The grille was custom made and took 3 or 4 weeks. Choice of tube size and with or without turn signals. I got mine without and added my own horizontal turn signals from Speedway. The workmanship and chrome on the grille are excellent.
