OK! I know SBC parts used on a  Y-block should never be considered here. But am talking about aftermarket parts not oem.  Have heard the use of sbc headers on y-blocks with some slight modification. Anyone here do this? Sure would be easier to source and easier on the wallet if doable.

I think James Potter has been down this road.  Do I remember something like '55 F1 y-block fenderwells did not quite work.  I think he had an old set that fit but are not made anymore.  Speedway Motors has several applications but no '57 Ford.  The next 460 project makes me want to try BBC fenderwells for '57 Chevy from Speedway.  Cut the flange off and substitute a 460 flange.

Same with a y-block.  SBC fenderwells and substitute the flange.

sbc headers are very close on the engine side.
You can buy Y-Block flanges and cut the flanges off the sbc's and
massage them together. Most sbc's exit near the center which runs  them right into the
crossmember on most Fords though. If you can find some fenderwell headers they should work
with the mods.

Jerry Christensen in MN. makes some nice Y-Block headers.
His co. is called  Yestertech.

Goodluck,
