I am not a big fan of big wheels at all and I would never build my 57 like this, but I must confess that I like the car somewhat. since the owner decided on a modern drivetrain and interior, the big wheels are ok, especially since they made them look like steelies without hubcaps.
In my opinion big wheels look especially out of place on an otherwise stock car.
the black 700proof shows how mean and clean a 57 Custom will look no matter if in 57 or 2016. It's rolling proof of the great design. it looks just as good as any modern concept car version of the Eleanore Fastback, GT 40, Cobra aso. The wheels visually help in getting the car into the next century.
Then again personally I am back to 14s, 15s and bias ply whitewalls ....
