Well it seems to be I am to high on price for my 57  , so I will being doing something with it this summer.
If I got a dollar  for ever picture I sent out I probably would have doubled my money.
I must be too  honest with the description when people call on it. I'm not complaining I wont mind keeping it a little longer. I will probably be doing some body and paint work to it .maybe a V8
swap. I like the car a lot   and I like the community and help on this web site. It wont be a full resto,
just an update to it and keep driving it.
So stay tuned and if do something I will start a "build post".
I may have found a few pictures I haven't posted here yet, if so I will post them up.

thanks .

Is this the Custom with the lettering on the side? Going to do a y-block swap?

Yes this one . Probably not a y block

One of things will be taking the lettering off.
Here is a pic of the bottom with the original paint still on it

That is clean underneath.

It does look really clean on the bottom, but on the other picture it looks like the rockers are shot. Mine was the opposite, floors so-so but solid rockers.
Any idea what your going to use for a running gear?

Very clean and solid underneath . The worst of it is the rockers. But I do
have new ones for it.
Not sure yet about the engine and trans yet. At the moment just keeping an
eye out for something that comes my way.
Here is a picture from the day I bought it .

I wish I could justify another car, I would love to have a 6 cylinder stick model.

Your car is VERY well priced... so much so..If I could,I would snap it up in a minute.Rocker replacement is nothing.
Keep it...I would not sell... but a nice FE or maintain the current motivation(or a sweet Y-Block)
I hope to see it when I visit Streator over Labor day this coming year.....Myself and my pals are planning a visit with Randy Schmidt at some event in your town.

Keep the car.

Jeff, I missed you when you were in town recently ,Glad you got to see  Randy and Ryan's places.
Truly something to see. They are some friends of mine. After I heard you were here , I thought
should have got a hold of you. Bet you would have taken it back with if you had the room for another.
The 6 does run good no issues with it, just under powered .
This would be the easiest resto I ever did if I do it.

even though its white , it is the black sheep of my cars. The other 4 are  Rocket powered....'49-'71 Olds.
at least they are not the "C" word right?.

The Labor Day weekend here is huge event looking forward to seeing you then.

Is it under powered for a six or just compared to a V8? One issue with the 223 is the distributor is it only has vacuum advance, no mechanical, and if the vacuum advance isn't working it will make them a dog...

I think its just the 6cyl power. I will look into the distributor. It mechanically runs really good.
thanks guys.

I hope that you can keep that car and not sell it.  If I had it, I would just replace the lower panels and drive it.

Ecode70D

I personally have nothing against the 6 cylinder engine.   I would  drive it around to the local cruises and try to confuse the OHOH society and tell them that it is my same old white custom with a 6 cylinder engine.
With the scarcity of 57 Fords in my area, most people don't know the difference between a custom and a custom 300
anyways.  Sometimes it feels like I'm living in chxxy country.

6cyl57

Ecode that's most likely what I will do . But what is OHOH ?
The 6 in the car is excellent condition , it runs great no oil burning . Being the gear head I am, I might do a little to it.
Like make a 2bbl adapter, maybe a small turbo and exhaust/header.
Definitely doing the rocker panel replace. Its always a head turner when I drive it around and many thumbs up ,from all
ages of men and women.

I really like these 57s in black , thought about doing that. But it just looks so cool in white and the body doesn't have to be
arrow straight. So most likely it will stay white.
