Has anyone else had any issues with boosters getting too much vacuum?my brakes are 'grabby' to say the least.
I'm in the process of trying to restrict the amount of vacuum the booster gets.I will keep you posted
I still have drums all round in case you were wondering

I have had this problem with two cars, one was because of very soft brake lining, other was cured by spraying silicon into the vacuum port while some one pumped the brakes. You only need one or 2 sprays.

Maybe you should disconnect the vacuum hose to the booster and try your brakes without boost.  See if the brakes are grabby then.  Restricting the vacuum to the booster will not reduce the total vacuum, just reduce the time to re-establish vacuum after applying the brakes.  Trying the brakes without vacuum will tell you whether there is a brake problem or a booster problem.   John

What have you changed?

That's an issue that is popping up all too often. Not to get political, but I keep thinking all this trade/import taxes stuff going on with China can't be a bad thing for us in the long run.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

A fairly common mistake made when people install power brakes on a manual brake car is reusing the manual brake pedal. The pedal will apply way too much pressure on the booster and will make the brakes seem grabby. The ratio of a power brake pedal should be 4-5 to 1 where the manual pedal will be 5-7 to one. If you get real lucky you can redrill the manual lever and re use it. otherwise you need to find a stock power brake pedal. It makes a huge difference in brake performance.
